Wasela — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 September 2026 Last updated: 14 September 2026
Wasela is built and published by VibesApps. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what happens to it.
In short: Wasela shows no ads, does not track you, does not sell your data, and shares nothing with ad networks or data brokers. What is collected is the minimum needed to carry your learning progress between your devices.
1. Who is responsible
| App | Wasela |
| Developer | VibesApps |
| Contact | [email protected] |
Write to that address with any privacy question, request or complaint.
2. Why an account is required
You need an account to use Wasela. Two features depend on it: carrying your progress and streak between your devices, and the weekly league — both need to know which records are yours.
Your progress is written to your device first and synced to your account when you have a connection. After your first sign-in, lessons work offline.
3. What is collected
3.1 Identity
You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an e-mail address.
- Sign in with Apple: Apple gives us a user identifier and an e-mail address. If you use "Hide My Email", we only ever receive Apple's relay address — we do not see your real one.
- Sign in with Google: your Google account's e-mail address and user identifier.
- E-mail sign-up: the e-mail address you give and your password. Your password never reaches us in readable form; our identity provider (Supabase) stores only a hash of it.
Your e-mail address is used to identify your account and, if necessary, to write to you about it. We send no marketing e-mail.
3.2 Your learning record
When you finish a lesson we store:
- which lesson and which plan,
- the local calendar day and timestamp of completion,
- your device's time zone (so your streak stays correct when you travel),
- your accuracy in that lesson and the points you earned.
3.3 Your settings
Language, chosen plan, daily goal, theme preference, reminder time, and whether you want the transliteration line shown.
3.4 Content reports
If you report a mistake in a lesson: which lesson, which language, which card, the reason you picked, and your note if you wrote one.
3.5 Weekly league
Which weekly group you were placed in and your points for that week. Other people in your league see your display name — never your e-mail address.
4. What is not collected
To be explicit, Wasela does not collect:
- your location,
- your contacts, photos, calendar or any other file on your device,
- microphone or camera input — the app never asks for those permissions,
- the advertising identifier (IDFA) or any other tracking identifier,
- anything you do outside the app,
- health, financial or payment information.
Wasela contains no advertising SDK and no behavioural analytics. There are only two third-party components in the app, and both are described below: crash reporting (Sentry) and subscription management (RevenueCat).
4a. Crash reporting
When something goes wrong unexpectedly, a technical record is sent to Sentry. It contains the technical description of the error and the line of code it happened in, the app version, the device model and the operating system version.
That record does not include your email address, your user ID or your lesson content, and it is not linked to your identity. The data is stored in Sentry's European Union region.
It exists for one reason: so we can see that the app broke for you without you having to tell us, and fix it.
4b. Subscription (Wasela+)
If you subscribe, the payment is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play; your card details never reach us. The state of the subscription (active, trial, when it ends) is managed by RevenueCat and is linked to your account ID — that link is what lets us find your subscription when you change devices.
5. Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device. The app sends you no remote notifications, collects no push token, and no such identifier is transmitted to any server. You can turn reminders off at any time.
6. Recitation audio
When you play the recitation, the audio streams from Quran Foundation's servers (verses.quran.foundation). As with any internet request, your IP address reaches that server while it is served. Nothing about your account is sent with that request.
If you never use the audio, the request is never made.
7. Where your data is stored
Account data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (hosted on Amazon Web Services). Database rules are configured so that each record is readable only by its owner: no other user can read your records.
Lesson content, the Qur'an text and the translations ship inside the app; you do not need an internet connection to take a lesson.
8. How long it is kept
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, every related record (lesson history, settings, reports, league membership) is deleted with it at the database level.
9. Your rights
From inside the app, without contacting anyone:
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete account. Deletion cannot be undone and removes your server-side records as well.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, port or erase your data (for example under GDPR or Turkey's KVKK). Write to [email protected]; once we have verified your identity we will respond within 30 days at the latest.
10. Children
Wasela is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect data from them. If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us data, we delete that record; if you become aware of such a case, write to [email protected].
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it. For a significant change we will also tell you inside the app.
